Oval and irregular mirror questions

Should I choose an oval, an irregular shape or a round mirror?

A vertical oval gives height for less width, so it suits a slim vanity or a tall wall. A round mirror is usually sized close to the full vanity width. An irregular outline (the Lucca, Onde or Lune) is meant to be the feature of the room. Our mirror shape guide compares them on real vanities.

Do these mirrors plug in, or do I need an electrician?

There’s no plug. Every LED mirror here is hardwired, so a licensed electrician connects it to a 220–240 V supply on the wall behind the mirror. Ask for the supply near the centre of where the mirror will hang, and if you’re renovating, settle that before the wall is sheeted or tiled. Do LED mirrors need an electrician? explains the cable position.

How high should it hang above the tap?

Leave 100–200 mm between the top of the tap (or splashback) and the bottom of the mirror, and never less than 100 mm. With a tall basin mixer, measure from the top of the spout. On an oval or organic outline, measure to the lowest point of the glass. Decide the height before your licensed electrician runs the cable, because the supply sits behind the mirror. Our mirror height guide has the full drawing.

Can I get a custom size or shape?

Yes. We make mirrors to any size and shape, and they take about 8 weeks. The price depends on the size and the features you choose. Send your measurements through our custom mirrors page and we’ll quote; we typically reply within 24 hours. Custom mirrors are made to order, so they can’t be returned for change of mind.

How long does delivery take, and is it free?

Delivery is free Australia-wide. In-stock orders leave us within 1–2 business days, and most arrive 2–5 business days after dispatch; regional addresses can take a little longer.

What is in the range

The Riviera, Riviera Ambient, Portofino, Framed Rivera, Palmero and Valencia (in four frame finishes) make up the ovals. The Lucca, Onde and Lune are the irregular mirrors. Sizes run from 450mm to 940mm wide, and both shapes include a mirror cabinet with shelves and an internal power outlet.

Not sure which shape?

An oval is a regular, symmetrical curve. An irregular outline is free-form and is meant to be the focal point. Our mirror shape guide explains where each works, and you can also browse round, arch and rectangle mirrors.
