COMPARE THE FINISHES

Brushed Brass or another finish?

How brushed brass compares with the finishes people usually look at next, and what it’s like to live with.

Brushed brass or antique brass?

Brushed brass is the lighter, brighter gold. Antique brass is darker and aged, and hides water marks better. Brushed brass reads more contemporary; antique brass is warmer. See antique brass.

Brushed brass or brushed gold?

Brands use both names for a similar soft gold with a brushed texture. Ours is sold as Brushed Brass, and the colour is the same across every design, so the basin mixer and shower match.

Looking after it

Wipe it with warm soapy water and a soft cloth, then dry it. Acid, chlorine and abrasive cleaners damage any finish, and that damage isn’t covered by the 3-year finish warranty.

Matching the whole room

Every design comes in brushed brass, so the mixer, shower, waste, towel rail and door handle can all match. The Valencia and Capri mirror frames come in brushed brass too.

Brushed Brass questions

Is there a difference between brushed brass and brushed gold?

In tapware the two names usually describe the same look: a soft gold with a brushed texture. Ours is sold as brushed brass.

Do you make brushed gold bathroom accessories?

Yes: the Lille toilet roll holder, Provence 600 mm towel rail and Copenhagen robe hook all come in brushed brass, in 304 stainless steel, to match the taps.

How do you clean gold bathroom tapware?

Warm soapy water and a soft cloth, then dry it. Acid, chlorine and abrasive cleaners damage the finish, and that damage isn't covered by the 3-year finish warranty.

Brushed brass or antique brass?

Brushed brass is the lighter, brighter gold and reads more contemporary against pale tiles; antique brass is darker and aged, and hides water marks better.

Is brass good for bathroom taps?

Our mixers have DZR brass bodies, a dezincification-resistant brass, with Citec ceramic cartridges. The body carries a 15-year warranty.

Gold bathroom tapware with a brushed finish

Brushed brass is our gold bathroom tapware finish, the look many people call brushed gold: a soft, lighter gold with a fine brushed grain rather than a mirror polish. It's brighter and more contemporary than our antique brass, and it lifts white or pale tiles. All 24 of our designs are made in it.

Brass shower rail set

The Corsica is a brass shower rail set: a 930 mm, Ø25 mm rail carrying an overhead head on a 400 mm arm and a hand shower, with a diverter between them. The body is brass and 304 stainless steel, it works from 50 to 800 kPa, and it's rated WELS 3 Star at 8.0 L/min.

Brushed gold shower set from separate parts

For a brushed gold shower set without a rail, combine the Lyon ceiling head (200 mm drop) or the Bordeaux wall arm (384 mm reach) with the Versailles hand shower, and run both from the Cannes diverter mixer.

Brushed brass basin mixer and wall taps

The Vienna Tall brushed brass basin mixer stands 305 mm for a basin on top of the bench, and the Vienna Short 175 mm for a basin set into it. The Milano wall mixer and its spout set put the tap on the wall instead, and all four are Lead Free WaterMark certified. At the sink, the Como and Porto come in brushed brass too.

Brushed brass toilet roll holder and accessories

The Lille brushed brass toilet roll holder is 165 mm long and sits 65 mm off the wall. With the Provence 600 mm towel rail and the Copenhagen robe hook it makes a set in 304 stainless steel, and the Santorini lever and Prague lock carry the gold to the door.

Looking after brushed brass

Look after it and brushed brass keeps its colour. Use warm soapy water and a soft cloth, dry it, and keep acid, chlorine and abrasive cleaners away (finish care guide). Antique brass vs brushed brass shows our two golds side by side. The Granada floor waste and Firenze bottle trap carry the same gold below the basin and underfoot.

Every product here has the same cover: 15 years on the body, 7 years on cartridges, valves and moving parts, 3 years on the finish and 2 years on washers, seals and O-rings (tapware warranty). Taps and showers must be installed by a licensed plumber for the warranty to apply.
