BEFORE YOU BUY

Choosing shower screen hardware

Four pieces. Your glazier will tell you which your screen needs.

Rennes: glass to wall

A hinge that hangs the door from the wall, on a 90 × 64 mm wall plate.

Geneva: glass to glass

A hinge that hangs the door from a fixed glass panel. 110 × 90 mm.

Rhodes: glass clamp

Holds a fixed glass panel in place. 60 × 29.5 × 20.5 mm.

Corfu: door knobs

Back-to-back 30 mm knobs through the glass, one each side.

Shower screen hardware questions

What is a glass clamp?

A small bracket that holds a fixed glass panel to a wall or floor without a frame. The Rhodes is 60 × 29.5 × 20.5 mm and suits 8–12 mm toughened glass.

Are glass shower door hinges universal?

No. Hinges differ in type (glass-to-glass or glass-to-wall), glass thickness and hole layout; ours suit 8–12 mm toughened glass, so check the type and your existing holes before you order.

Can a shower door be hinged to a glass panel?

Yes, with a glass-to-glass hinge such as the Geneva, which joins the door to a fixed panel. For a door hung off the wall, use the Rennes glass-to-wall hinge.

Who installs shower screen hardware?

Your glazier or shower-screen installer, because the glass has to be cut and drilled to suit the hinges and clamps before it's toughened.

Will the Corfu handle fit my shower door?

The Corfu is a pair of back-to-back Ø30 mm knobs, 63–80 mm long overall, that mount through a hole in the door glass. Check your glass thickness and the hole before you order.

Glass clamp, hinges and handles for frameless screens

A frameless shower screen hangs on a few small fittings, and those fittings are what you see. Ours come in the six finishes of our tapware, so the screen can match the shower mixer: a glass clamp, two hinges and a pair of door knobs, all 304 stainless steel, with the clamp and hinges made for 8 to 12 mm toughened glass.

Fixed panels: the Rhodes

The Rhodes is 60 × 29.5 × 20.5 mm and holds a fixed panel to the wall or floor. Use it where the glass doesn't move; the door itself hangs on hinges.

Shower hinge: glass-to-glass or glass-to-wall

A hinged door needs one of two hinge types, depending on what it hangs from. The Geneva is a glass-to-glass hinge, 110 × 90 mm, for a door hung off a fixed panel. The Rennes is a glass-to-wall hinge with a 90 × 64 mm wall plate, for a door hung off the wall.

Replacing shower screen hinges

Before you order replacement shower screen hinges, check three things: the glass thickness, whether the door hangs from glass or wall, and the holes already in your glass. Toughened glass is cut and drilled before it's toughened, so new holes aren't an option; your glazier can tell you whether ours suit the holes you have.

Shower door handle: the Corfu knobs

The Corfu is a pair of back-to-back Ø30 mm knobs, 63 to 80 mm long overall, one on each side of the glass, in 304 stainless steel like the hinges.

Matching the screen to the shower

Hinges and clamps sit at eye level beside the shower head, and they're splashed every day. That makes the finish choice more visible here than almost anywhere else: brushed nickel hides water spots better than chrome, brushed gunmetal hides them better than black, and the brasses warm up a white-tiled shower.

Installing shower screen hardware

Shower screen hardware goes in with the glass, by your glazier or shower-screen installer, because the panels are made to suit the fittings. Choose the finish to match your shower and basin mixer; choosing a shower covers screens alongside heads and mixers, and caring for tapware finishes applies to the hardware too.

Every product here has the same cover: 15 years on the body, 7 years on cartridges, valves and moving parts, 3 years on the finish and 2 years on washers, seals and O-rings (tapware warranty).
