Matte black taps and fittings, one finish for the room
A matte black tap is a hard line against white or pale tiles, the strongest contrast of our six finishes, and a soft one against dark tiles. The finish is flat and solid, and every one of our 24 designs comes in it, so you can run it from the basin to the bathroom door with no change in shade.
How matte black wears
Matte black lasts if it's cleaned gently. Abrasive pads, cream cleaners and bleach are what harm it: they polish or strip the surface and leave shiny patches. Water marks show more on black than on brushed gunmetal, so dry it after use in a hard-water area.
Black taps for the basin and the kitchen
The Vienna Short (75 mm under the spout) and Vienna Tall (200 mm) cover bench and above-bench basins, and the Milano wall spout and mixer keeps the vanity clear. In the kitchen, the Porto pull-out and the Como swivel mixer both fit a Ø35 mm tap hole, and black reads clearly against a white or pale stone benchtop.
Black glass clamp and hinges
Frameless shower glass shows every fitting, which is why a black glass clamp and black hinges are worth matching to the shower mixer. The Rhodes holds a fixed panel, the Geneva and Rennes hinge the door to glass or wall, and all three suit 8 to 12 mm toughened glass.
Black shower door handle
The Corfu back-to-back knobs are Ø30 mm in 304 stainless steel, the black shower door handle for that screen. Pair them with a matte black shower: the Lyon or Bordeaux 250 mm head, or the Corsica rail set run by the Cannes diverter.
Modern black door handle and lock
The Santorini lever is a modern black door handle with Ø53.5 mm roses, and the Prague lock and Venezia butt hinge match it. Handle and lock suit doors 30 to 42 mm thick with a 60 mm backset.
Underfoot, the Granada waste frames your tile in a thin black edge, and the Provence rail and Lille holder finish the walls. Caring for tapware finishes lists the cleaners to avoid, and tapware finishes explained sets black beside the other five.
Every product here has the same cover: 15 years on the body, 7 years on cartridges, valves and moving parts, 3 years on the finish and 2 years on washers, seals and O-rings (tapware warranty). Taps and showers must be installed by a licensed plumber for the warranty to apply.
